This release of Corncob Other Worlds Camapaign consists of 3 files.

README. -- This text file

INSTALL.EXE -- An installer program that will install to a Hard Disk.

It will make a directory, then run the self-extractor.

10521971.EXE -- A self-extracting compressed archive of all the files

                 in the Corncob game.

Installing the game from a floppy:

----------------------------------

To install the Corncob on your hard disk from a floppy, just type

the following line at your DOS prompt. The install program will

ask you to type the directory name where you would like Corncob to be

installed. Do not try to install Corncob to the same directory as a

previous version.

A:INSTALL ( runs the installation program )

  To play the game, type:

CORNCOB

The game should now be installed and running fine.

Installing the game from a distributed ZIP file.

------------------------------------------------

When you run the install program it will prompt you for the pathname

of the directory where you would like to install Corncob. This directory

may or may not exist already, but please don't try to install Corncob in

a directory already used by an earlier version.

Alternatively, you may wish to simply copy the 10521971.EXE self-extracting

file into the desired directory, and then run it.

In either case, once Corncob is installed, you may want to delete the

10521971.EXE file (to save disk space). IE once the installation is complete,

this 10521971.EXE file is no longer needed.

CORNCOB ( starts up the game )

.

.

.

. IN CASE OF INSTALLATION TROUBLE

.

.

If you get the ERROR! Could not execute.... message, that means that

the install program could not run the self-extracting archive for some

reason. You can always copy the self extracting file 10521971.exe into the

Corncob directory and run it from the command line manually. You need at

least 450k of available DOS memory for the self-extractor to run.

There has been one report of the self-extraction failing due to conflicts

with automatic-disk compression software.
