HIGH-MACS simulator - official site backup
==========================================

What this is
------------
An offline copy of the official HIGH-MACS Simulator site by grape65535:

    http://grape65535.jp/games/ggsim/

The site went offline. This copy was rebuilt from the Internet Archive's
Wayback Machine. Open index.html in a browser to browse it locally.

Snapshot used for the page itself:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20250113221632/http://grape65535.jp/games/ggsim/

Supporting files were taken from the captures where they exist, which are not
all from the same date:

    index.html                      2025-01-13
    base.css                        2019-07-17
    prototype.js                    2019-07-17
    bg.jpg, panel_bg.png,
    footer_bg.png                   2019-07-17
    sc01.png, sc02.png, sc03.png    2019-07-17
    manual.txt      (Japanese)      2024-05-20
    manual_en.txt   (English)       2022-06-28
    tips/2014.01.18_cheat_mode.txt  2024-09-21

What is missing, and why
------------------------
The site loaded its documents over AJAX, one text file per page. The Wayback
Machine only ever captured three of them, so the rest are gone:

  * Present : manual.txt, manual_en.txt, tips/2014.01.18_cheat_mode.txt
  * Missing : release_note.txt (changelog), data_import.txt (how to carry
              save data between versions), and 18 further tips pages dated
              2011-2014 covering scoring, ally orders, radar range, jump
              behaviour, ATM lock-on, night vision and more.

Clicking those links in the local copy will do nothing.

Also missing:

  * launch.png - referenced by the page but never captured. Its <img> tag was
    removed from this copy so the page does not show a broken image.
  * The version downloads. The page linked v1.0.5f from a bare IP address and
    v1.0.3 / v1.0.4 from Dropbox. The game itself is NOT in this archive; it is
    a separate 119 MB download on the page that hosts this backup.

The eleven embedded YouTube videos are the developer's own gameplay footage.
They are remote embeds, so they need an internet connection and will only play
for as long as those videos stay up.

Changes made to the original files
----------------------------------
Only one: Wayback Machine URL rewriting was undone so the page loads its own
CSS, JavaScript and images from this folder. Links to other sites still point
where they originally pointed. No content was edited. index.html was served
gzip-encoded and has been decompressed.
